Gemma Luker is a freelance illustrator who graduated with a BA (hons) Illustration degree, and since graduating she has been working on various projects, such as several magazine and editorial submissions, CD covers, a fabric/community project, logos for several different types of companies (including a restaurant brand), as well as personal projects to improve her portfolio.
She has also been working on greeting card designs, after one of her designs came runner-up in a competition organised by TigerPrint, and will have a design in the Valentines range 2011.
She also recently had the opportunity to exhibit her latest work, 'Childhood' in June at the Candid Arts Gallery in London, which resulted in her being able to collaborate with a writer on a children's story he has written, and she has completed a month long internship at Creative Review magazine, working with the art director on images for several articles published in the July issue.
Gemma is now a freelancing illustrator on SketchBook Magazine, a publication that mixes illustration and fashion, and she's also working with the editor to produce an upcoming book about the success of the publication and events from the magazine. This involves her sourcing content for the book, editing and interviewing, as well as designing the pages and layouts.
