If you're a fan of anything tiny and intricate, then you'll appreciate these vintage jewellery boxes that open up to reveal microscopic human figurines and tiny painted scenes, all lovingly created by Canadian-Trinidadian artist, TALWST.
Specialising in mixed media and performance practices, he "explores the narrative of art history, whilst inserting elements of contrasting cultures in order to engage a larger audience and in hopes of broadening the addressed themes in art historical discourse".
TALWST's beautiful work is starting to attract some serious attention across the globe. Generously funded by the RBCFoundation, his solo exhibition at the Art Gallery of Mississauga in the XIT Room is currently on show. Also running as a part of the TD Bank Then and Now Series, which celebrates Black history and identity through visual art in the Western world, the artist is hosting a solo exhibition at the Drake Hotel featuring his ‘Nubian’ Series. Finally, in collaboration with Vice Magazine, TALWST will be creating a body of work to appear in the magazine set to hit the stands in September 2015. Find out more at Talwst.com.
