Incredible aerial photographs of New York City taken from the top of skyscrapers

When photographer Navid Baraty left an unfulfilling career in engineering, he decided to pursue his photographic passion. Today, his work evokes human stories in a sometimes raw and almost poetic way. He wants his work to capture the awe and wonder that fuels our uniquely human curiosity, and to shape the way people think about the Earth. His intense curiosity and love of travel has made him determined to explore the world’s most extreme and beautiful environments on every continent.

Winning numerous awards, Navid's work has appeared in publications and exhibitions worldwide. His work has been used in several large-scale installations, and he was recently commissioned by Apple for a project in Chongqing, China. This latest project, entitled Intersection, is of New York City shot from above, often from on top of skyscrapers. From Midtown to the Financial District, from Chelsea to Union Square, these vertigo-inducing images show a different perspective to the city that never sleeps. More on www.navidbaraty.com.
