American painter Eric Green explores the concept of time with his latest collection of diptychs. Each of the image sets is only slightly altered to reflect the passage of time, allowing minor details such as light to transform one painting into another. Green explains that his series is: “an attempt to capture time, or the poetic phrase ‘the sad beauty of time passing’”. The subtle alterations of colour offer something new and a rejuvenated life to each of the diptychs. Due to this, the paintings are more impressive when viewed as a pair, making us consider just how much (or how little) is effected by time.
