Just when January comes to an end, we have dark and wintry February to contend with. Ok, that's quite a depressing opening line for an article on Creative Boom. But it's true. This time of year can really be quite miserable. It's only natural that we start to think about summer and where we might go on our holidays. For me, it has to be Greece and its beautiful islands. There really is nowhere like it on earth. And I've been lucky enough to compare it against quite a few nice spots across the globe, but nothing ever comes close.
This stunning series by Florida-based photographer Marco Andres Argüello, simply entitled Greek Isles, is every bit of perfection to me. Shot with 35mm and medium format film cameras, the imagery defines everything that has me pining for Greece.
The colour of the sea, the local wildlife, the gorgeous blue sky... The way the light bounces off the beautiful landscape... It's all perfectly depicted here. I can't wait to hear the sound of the waves crashing on the beach and to feel the warmth of the sun on my face.
More of Marco's work can be found on his portfolio.
