Artists take NYC's unwanted items to design elaborate sets on the city streets

Set in the Street is an ongoing art project in which photographer Justin Bettman joins forces with set designer Gozde Eker to build elaborate sets out of unwanted materials and furniture, most of which are found discarded on New York City's streets.

Think old sofas and bathtubs or broken lamps and unloved ornaments, and it's amazing what the pair discover and reuse for their interesting series. After shooting their own photos, with the help of various willing models, the sets are left installed on the street, so that passersby can shoot their own photos and share them using the Instagram hashtag #setinthestreet.
