A bug's life: Artist creates lifelike insect and flower sculptures from recycled materials

You might remember Kate Kato's work from our post last year. However, after clapping our eyes on her latest designs, we simply had to share.

The UK-based artist is a self-confessed insect addict, and has combined this passion with a love of crafting to produce unique, miniature sculptures. What began as a small project a few years ago has now amounted to a collection of over 100 different species – and it's still being added to.

All of the insects are hand cut, using a scalpel, and some are hand embroidered to create true-to-life patterns and textures. Discover more at www.kasasagidesign.com.
