1,100 white umbrellas form a beautiful canopy over Finland's Habitare Design Fair

Environmental artist Kaisa Berry and creative director Timo Berry from design agency BOTH recently joined forces to create a showpiece installation at the Ahead Arena for Finland's 2015 Habitare Design Fair, using over a thousand white umbrellas. Suspended above the main stage of the festival, the umbrellas formed an incredible canopy inspired by clouds, and each reflected and caught the light in purple and blue hues.

In keeping with the event's 'Breaking Free' theme, there were swings and aerial acrobats underneath the umbrellas, creating a dreamy mood. The duo explained: "The aim is to take a gentle approach to the often over-serious design scene, through joy and surprise. At the same time, this gives adults a chance to play and act silly."
