2017 Christmas gift guide for the photographer in your life

If, like me, you've not even considered Christmas yet, then allow Creative Boom to help with your festive shopping. Over the next week or so, we'll be bringing you a wealth of gift suggestions to suit the creative people in your life.

We kick things off with a gift guide for those who love photography. From backpacks and accessories to gadgets and tools, we've selected what we believe are the very best on the market.

1. Olympus PEN-F

We have fallen in love with the Olympus PEN-F, a stylish camera that proves beauty has no need for DSLR beasts. It's the most powerful ever PEN and one of the most beautiful system cameras Olympus has ever produced. With 5-axis image stabilisation, 50-Megapixel high-resolution shot capability and a built-in electronic viewfinder with a real-time preview of settings adjustments. Priced from £1,299 (but well worth it).

2. USA Gear Front Loading Camera Backpack

USA Gear has just launched a new camera backpack, designed for maximum capacity and customisation. It's apparently their largest interior bag with complete front opening access. It can accommodate many extra lenses and even telephoto lenses attached to the camera. It also has a 17" laptop compartment. Perfect, at £64.99.

3. Lomo' Instant Camera Sanremo

We love the flexibility of the Lomo'Instant Sanremo. Not to mention its retro-chic style. There are three shooting modes to cover every kind of instant photograph, an ultra-advanced lens system with built-in wide-angle lens and it's compatible with multiple lens attachments. There are even colour gels to add some nice filters to your pics. Priced at £89.

4. Power Lens Fast Wireless Charger

Photographers will love this wireless charger that looks like a lens. Courtesy of LightPix Labs, it's Qi-enabled so you just plug it into a socket and it'll recharge your device. No wires needed, you just drop your phone into place for instant connection. There's even a satisfying shutter sound to tell you that it's working. A bargain at $34.

5. Impossible I-1 Camera by Polaroid

The Impossible I-1 Camera is probably one of the most advanced instant cameras ever made thanks to its Bluetooth connectivity and integrated smartphone app. You can take double-exposures, create light paintings, take photos at the clap of your hands using sound triggers, and control every tiny detail in manual mode. From experimental photography to studio portraiture, it's great for any analogue enthusiast who wants to give their instant photos a little touch of digital precision. Yours for around £220.

6. Lensball

Lensball is a fun photography tool that allows you to capture a unique view of the world. It flips things upside down, gets them in focus, and lets you see much more than you normally would. We love it. And it would make a great gift, priced from $24.95.

7. Leather Camera DSLR Adjustable Wrist Strap

This simple, practical and elegant adjustable wrist strap is made of leather and has been designed to keep your camera safely and securely in your hands. Available in tan or black with a range of strap styles, it's handmade and crafted by Harber London. Priced from £39.

8. Kodak Photo Printer

Does the photography lover in your life miss the pharmacy envelope of printed pics? The Kodak Photo Printer, at around £142, will make them feel happily nostaligic. Connect to your smartphone and print 4x6" photographs at the click of a button.

9. Sandmarc iPhone Scape Filters

For friends and family who can't get enough of their smartphone camera, then they might appreciate Sandmarc's iPhone scape filters which help to manage exposure, create motion blur and give a more cinematic feel to their images. It'll take their smartphone photographs to another level. From $59.99.

10. Insta360 Nano

The Insta360 Nano turns a smartphone into a 360 degree VR camera. Priced at £169, it uses dual 210 degree fish-eye lenses to record video and stitches the data into a panoramic video. It also has real-time capability for 360 degree video or photo sharing for live streaming. One of our favourite gadgets of 2017.
