Mexican design studio Menta knits a cosy brand identity for Love Fest Fibers

Love Fest Fibers is a new independent company based in San Francisco that creates yarns from 100% alpaca and merino wool, using materials such as recycled plastic bottle fibre and fashion industry remnants.

From Nepal to New Zealand, the firm learns from communities with vibrant textile traditions, partnering with artisans and pastoralists to bring its customers fibre with a story and the ability to support livelihoods.

For its brand identity, it approached Menta, an independent branding and illustration studio founded by Laura Méndez, in 2008. Using a soft and cosy palette of grey, cream and brown, the studio crafted an elegant, illustrated logo to match the ethos of the brand – with a knitted heart with needles as its focal point. Building on this vibe, Menta also provided cute illustrations of rams and alpacas, which are dotted throughout the product labels and tags. Beautiful work.
