Laser engraved wood art pieces that pay homage to cult video games and movies

in Inspiration / Crafts

These incredible artworks by Spitfire Labs – a husband and wife duo based in Brooklyn – are made out of laser engraved cherry hardwood and pay homage to some of the best loved classic video games, movies and TV shows.

From Star Wars and Back to the Future to The Legend of Zelda and Super Mario – each plaque or sculpture is made by Brandi and Andy Hara, who founded their crafts business in 2005 after years of work in the visual effects community.

"We quit our well paying day jobs in VFX to pursue our dreams of owning our own company and creating beautiful and unique works of art," said Brandi. "This is just the beginning for us, the tip of the iceberg if you will. Our dreams are limitless, and passion is endless."

The cherry wood they use for most of their pieces is treated with all natural, non-toxic chemicals, which help keep the environment happy, and materials are locally sourced when applicable. Each piece they make is numbered and inspected and only ships if it meets their highest quality of standards. If you love their work, you can even request a custom piece.
