Grainy and half-lit images by Nicolas Comment that drip with luminous reflection
Grainy and half-lit, the photographs from Nicolas Comment's series, Reverb, have all been shot with an analog camera, mostly in France, from the forest of the Massif Central to the coasts of Brittany. Along a road, a river or inside some secret hotel enclosing melancholic and peculiar smells, as well as exotic wallpapers, Comment's "reverberation" is a travel through time and space.

He explains: "I re-read and intertwine images, like one would do with words and rhymes in order for them to dialogue in a new way, like in a poem."
Over the years, Nicolas has developed a style characterised by an original use of colour and an interest in travel, landscapes and nude – perhaps relating to other French photographers such as Bernard Plossu, Magdi Senadji, Saul Leiter and Todd Hido. An exhibition of the series, entitled Reverb, is taking place at the Polka Galerie in Paris until 6 May 2017.
