Painted Cityscapes: Blurred scenes that capture the throbbing pulse of a metropolis

Italian born artist Valerio D’Ospina has become one of the most significant painters of cityscapes and industrial scenes in America, with a distinctive style of blurred and splattered paintings that perfectly capture the metropolitan pulse of the world's largest cities.

Born in Taranto in 1980, but now living and working in Philadelphia, Valerio discovered a passion for art during his studies at the prestigious Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence, where he learned the techniques of the great masters under the expert instruction of professor R.Giovannelli. After gaining further experience on the thriving art scenes of Paris and Florence, Valerio was awarded a professorship at just 27 years old.

Today, he enjoys creating cityscape oil paintings with bold streaks, scratches, splatters and washes that mimic the energy and frantic pace of city life. Through his work, his experience of the classics is evident yet there is a contemporary aesthetic that is original as well as extraordinary.

Looking at each rich, and largely monochromatic, oil painting you can see why he has built such a reputation for himself, and enjoyed exhibitions across America and the rest of the world. If you want to discover more of his work, visit www.valeriodospina.com.
