This year, the theme was to celebrate the life and work of Vincent van Gogh who was born in the same town 162 years ago.

Nineteen teams took inspiration from the famous artist by creating towering sculptural floats with the colours, motifs and imagery of his signature style, including several interpretations of Van Gogh's self-portraits.

Launched in 1936, the annual parade celebrates the region’s reputation as a global supplier of dahlia flowers, an area now covering 33 hectares of 600,000 dahlia bulbs in fifty different species.

As you can imagine, the first Corso Zundert parades were modest compared to today's event, featuring horse-drawn carts or bicycles covered in flowers. But over the years, it has grown dramatically, exploding into an impressive show that draws thousands. Here are just a few snippets for you to enjoy.
